  1. Walk me through how you'd design a GenAI-based test tool that multiple independent teams across Amazon could plug into for their own testing pipelines. What would the extensibility points look like, and how would you avoid it becoming a one-off script that only your team can use?
From the posting: “design and develop GenAI tools, frameworks and testing infrastructure to facilitate the testing by multiple teams and Amazon business. This includes analyzing requirements, assessing testability, identifying automation opportunities and implementing them for projects where the work will be run by multiple businesses in parallel.pen_spark/ ... for projects where the work will be run by multiple businesses in parallel.pen_spark/ ... facilitate the testing by multiple teams and Amazon business.pen_spark/ ... pen_spark/Design and develop GenAI tools, frameworks and testing infrastructure to facilitate the testing by multiple teams and Amazon business.pen_spark/Lead effort towards simplifying test tools and technologies in terms of efficiency, effectiveness stability, extensibility, and scalability.”
  2. The HR conversational AI assistant starts giving employees confidently wrong answers about a leave policy that recently changed. Walk me through how you'd triage and fix this in production.
From the posting: “driving the operational fundamentals (accuracy, latency, quality) that earn employee trust”
  3. The Payroll and Freight postings talk a lot about 'ambiguous problems' and 'solving complex problems, applying appropriate technologies and best practices.' Tell me about a time when you had to turn an ambiguous or fuzzy requirement into a clear technical solution.
From the posting: “You will solve ambiguous business problems and map them to elegant technical solutions”

Not many teams aspire to zero. Welcome to the Worldwide Returns and ReCommerce team (WWR&R) at Amazon.com. WW R&R is an agile, innovative organization dedicated to ‘making zero happen’ to benefit our customers, our company, and the environment. The mission of WWR&R is to eliminate defects that cause returns (Zero defects), deliver Zero cost of returns for Amazon and send Zero product waste to landfill “the 3 Zeros”.

We do this by developing products and driving unparalleled operational excellence to help customers keep what they buy, recover returned & damaged product value, and create the best customer returns experience in the world. Amazon WW R&R is comprised of business, product, operational, program, software engineering and data teams that manage the life of a returned or damaged product from a customer to the warehouse and on to its next best use. Our work is broad and deep: we train machine learning models to automate routing and find signals to optimize re-use; we invent new channels to give products a second life; we develop world-class product support to help customers love what they buy; we pilot smarter product evaluations; we work from the customer backward to find ways to make the return experience remarkably delightful and easy; and we do it all while scrutinizing our business with laser focus. As a member of this team, your mission will be to design, develop, document and support massively scalable, distributed real time systems.

Using C++, Java, object oriented design patterns, distributed databases and other innovative storage techniques, you will build and deliver software systems that support complex and rapidly evolving business requirements.
